OTHER NEWS

HIGHLAND FOODBANK – Tesco collection – volunteers please  Tesco have been looking at working with the Trussell Trust (the owners of the Foodbank franchise) by supporting local Foodbanks across the UK. Tesco will be trialling food collections at around 50 Tesco stores on Saturday 8th September 2012. Six regions have been chosen for the trial and Tesco Inshes and Tesco Extra in Inverness are two of the chosen stores. Tesco is providing some volunteers from their Retired Staff Association but the Highland Foodbank will also need to provide around 3-4 volunteers throughout the day at each store. Collecting will take place from 9.30am – 6pm at both stores, so a total of around 32 volunteers will be needed to cover the day, based on each person being willing to do a 2 hour shift. If you are willing to help by giving up to two hours on Saturday 8 September, then please contact Lorna Dempster. For further information, please contact Sandy Cumming.
