ST STEPHEN’S – PARKING RESTRICTIONS FROM 17 OCTOBER 2016 – Parking is NOT permitted on double yellow lines on Annfield Road, Southside Road, Old Edinburgh Road or Mayfield Road. At the moment Highland Council have not decided on times for the permit parking bays which will be provided, but I am hopeful we will be allowed to park there on a Sunday. I will report back when I get confirmation. Crown Court Hotel (25 Southside Rd), Kingsmills Medical Practice (18 Southside Rd), Southside Rd Surgery (43 Southside Rd), and  Southside Dental Practice (28 Southside Rd), have all given us permission to use their car parks, but all are at owners own risk. Funerals and Weddings are exempt from this law. Contact Joan Darcy joan.darcytesco.net.
SALE OF THE OLD HIGH HALL At their meeting on Tuesday 27 September, the Kirk Session agreed not to rescind their decision to proceed with the process to sell the Old High hall. They also agreed not to proceed with a congregational meeting in the short term. Instead the Kirk Session will provide more information, considering a range of options. Rev Trevor Hunt, Presbytery Clerk attended this meeting and explained that the Inverness Planning Committee will have a consultation paper on the Presbytery Plan available at their conference on 21 January 2017. The process for a decision to sell the Old High hall will require a congregational meeting to be held at which a vote will be taken by secret ballot. Presbytery have kindly agreed to chair this congregational meeting. This will be a meeting open to members and adherents but only members will be eligible to vote.
