OLD HIGH SUMMER OPENING A really big thanks to everyone who helped keep the church open from June to October.  Around 20 volunteers welcomed over 2,000 visitors to our church, and thereby enhanced their experience of visiting the City of Inverness. Many visitors left messages on the Prayer Tree, and it was humbling to read these, as their visit had obviously been of great comfort to them. Thank you all for giving up so much of your time – it’s much appreciated. A full analysis of the visitors/ numbers will be published in the next newsletter. Christine Mackenzie christinemac73<at>hotmail.com
WORD FOR TODAY booklets are available at the doors at both churches.
CROSSREACH NEWS the latest edition is now available at church doors. Also latest Prayer Diary for Oct – Jan 2017. CHRISTMAS CATALOGUES are also at the doors. An early order will ensure you receive your requested items. Thanks Rae Swan.

FOOD FOR FAMILIES: Following another successful year, Ann and David Sutherland have extended their generosity to provide the mince for the Food for Families project again this year, which will this year also be sponsored by the Mustard Seed, The Kitchen and Williamson Foodservice. Last year 3,508 meals were provided, which was a fantastic effort from all the teams involved. Over the five years 12,652 cooked meals have been provided to many families who have been in need. I have indicated that we could do the following: W/c 5 December – Spaghetti Bolognese : W/c 9 January – Macaroni Cheese. All ingredients will be provided. If you could help on one or both of the above dates please let me know as soon as possible. Thank you for your support. Christine MacKenzie christinemac73<at>hotmail.com.
CRISIS ACCOMMODATION FOOD Highland Gateway (formerly Highland Homelessness Trust) are providing crisis accommodation throughout the year for the most vulnerable in our society. Previously it was provided from November to March with the support of Inverness Presbytery and other churches in the area. Now that the service is being extended to meet the need for an all year round provision, volunteer help is required, and Liz Walsh has kindly agreed to co-ordinate the volunteer requirement over the next 12 months. Volunteers would provide/cook say 6 or so meals that could be frozen, and Liz would co-ordinate this on a rota basis to ensure an even spread of cooked meals being received over the coming months. For further information or to volunteer please contact Liz at patrickwalsh611<at>btinternet.com). Christine MacKenzie christinemac73<at>hotmail.com.
