SUNDAY EVENING DISCUSSION GROUP : this evening’s meeting will no longer take place at St Stephen’s. Instead the group has decided to participate in the talk being held at the Culduthel Christian Centre at 6pm. OH GIVING TREE is supporting Highland Gateway. As in the past the most welcome and useful gifts are warm scarves, gloves, socks, beanie hats and basic toiletries like soap, shower gel and shampoo. There are around 45 homeless (12 women and 33 men) and the cards are marked appropriately (spare cards in a box alongside). ST STEPHEN’S GIVING TREE is available today and next Sunday 4 December. Please choose a tag from the Tree and return the red bow for future use. Details of the gifts required are on the labels. Please wrap your gifts, attaching the label for identification and return them either on 4 or 11 December for subsequent distribution. Gifts are for Beechwood, Cale House, Manna House, Mackenzie Centre, Hilton Village (Social Work), Porterfield Prisoners’ Children and Barnardo’s Springboard (toiletries for vulnerable youngsters aged 16 to 20 years). CHRISTMAS FAYRE LUNCH this Saturday 3 December 12 – 2pm. Soup & sandwich + tea/coffee & biscuit. Baking, gifts, tombola stalls. OLD HIGH MUSIC on Saturday 10 December at 12 noon marks the final concert of the 2016 series. Gordon Tocher, Organist at Inverness Cathedral, will perform an hour of Organ Music for Advent. FOOD FOR FAMILIES: Following another successful year, Ann and David Sutherland have extended their generosity to provide the mince for the Food for Families project again this year, which will this year also be sponsored by the Mustard Seed, The Kitchen and Williamson Foodservice. I have indicated that we could do the following: W/c 5 December – Spaghetti Bolognese : W/c 9 January – Macaroni Cheese. All ingredients will be provided. HOPE UK APPEAL FOR VOLUNTEERS We are a national Christian charity, and aim to enable children and young people to make drug and alcohol-free choices. We desperately need more volunteers. Our training course is accredited with the Open College Network to ensure high standards and consists of distance learning and three (often residential) training weekends; the course takes approximately 120 hours to complete over a period of 6 months.
