MODERATOR
AT SUMMER EVENING SERVICE The Moderator of the General Assembly of
the Church of Scotland, the Rt Rev David Lunan, will be the preacher
at our evening service TONIGHT at 8pm at the Old High Church. Mr
Lunan is Clerk to the Presbytery of Glasgow. There will be a chance
to meet him over tea after the service. The remaining summer guest
preachers this year will be: The Very Rev Dr Finlay Macdonald,
Principal Clerk of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland on
Sunday 17 August; and The Very Rev Mark Strange, Episcopal Bishop of
Moray, Ross and Caithness on Sunday 31 August (all at 8pm). For more
details, call Peter on 01463 250802.
HOLIDAY
SUNDAYS - 29 June-17 August - There will be activities for children
of all ages in St Stephen’s hall during the Sunday School
holidays. The children are very welcome in church with their
families for the first part of the service. They can then move into
the hall for activities.

their envelopes from the vestry this morning.
SOUTHSIDE
NURSING HOME – our monthly service will be held today
immediately after the service at St Stephen’s led by Jim
Alexander. If you are able to help, please meet in the transept at
the end of the service.
EARLY
BIRDS Can we tempt you to join us with the aroma of grilled bacon and
croissants? or the good chats around the table? or the friendships
that develop? or the wee acts of worship we share together before
heading out to see what the day has to offer? 7.30am this Thursday
at St Stephen’s is the place to be and thereafter every
alternate Thursday – finished by 8.15am
A
CAR BOOT SALE IN AID OF THE HANDBELL GROUP is to be held in the
Blythswood Car Park, Evanton on Saturday 12 July. If anyone in the
congregation has any item which they have no further use for and
which may be sellable at a car boot sale would you like to donate to
the Handbell Group to raise funds for a full set of bells? Look at
it as a time to have a summer clearance of bits you haven’t
used for some time - there is always someone who can use your items
and are willing to pay for them.
MEET
WAQAS For the last two years we have been praying for Waqas and his
project of building a church and Christian School in Okara, Pakistan.
For those who generously supported a Coffee Morning last December you
have the chance to meet him in person. He will be speaking at the
following venues: Sunday 6 July 7pm Crown Church lounge; Wednesday 9
July 7.30pm Barn Church.
HEALING
SERVICE There will be a Healing Service in St Stephen’s on
Sunday 13 July at 4pm to which are all welcome.
MONDAY
14 JULY is the date of the visit by the International Presbyterian
Choral Ensemble from Atlanta, Georgia. The performance starts
at 7.30pm in the Old High. It is hoped the congregation will come
along and support the event.
