    • This would have been by an army chaplain. I suggest you contact Cameron Barracks to find where the baptismal register is. But the details may be on the birth certificate, if you have that!

  2. Good Evening Reverend.

Myself, my wife and my 2 children are coming up to Inverness on holiday on 12th April from the West Midlands, I want to show my children where I spent a lot of my childhood holidays with my Grandparents / Uncles / Aunties & Cousins

My mother is from Inverness, {Gilby is her married name, nee MacKenzie of Midmills Road} she met my father who was stationed at Dalcross during the war and they were married at St Stephens church on 29th June 1949, I don’t know who the Reverend was at the time, they then moved to Birmingham with my late fathers career. I then came along in November 1959 and was taken up to Inveness to be Baptised, I was Baptised at St Stephens Church on 17th April 1960 by Rev A. Campbell.
i still have a copy of the New Testament which was signed by Rev Campbell and given to me.

We may come to a service at the church, could you tell me what time they start on a Sunday.

Looking forward to seeing the old sights again

    Kind regards

    Pete Gilby
