An extract of the accounts had been made available at both churches. The accounts, compiled to regulations set out by OSCR (Charities Commission) had been approved by the Trustees (Kirk Session and Congregational Board). The Treasurer thanked Johnston and Carmichael for preparing the accounts at no cost.
Income for the year was £150,567 against £124,375 for the previous year. Expenditure was £148,301 against £142,123 the previous year. This gave a net surplus of £2266 against a deficit of £17,748 the previous year. Reserves at 31 December stood at £325,944 against £323,678 in 2006.
The stewardship programme carried out in early 2007 had been very successful and offerings had increased by 20%. Standing orders had increased to over 70.
The figure for gift aid was for 16 months to bring it under the new accounting system. Thanks were due to Graeme Moffat for his work on reclaiming the tax.
Alan presented his budget for 2008 and this was approved.
The Minister thanked Alan for his diligence during the year.
