Ian Rudd and Malcolm Macrae
In the last 12 months the YG has kept itself busy with a variety of activities.
On Sunday nights we have played our usual games of four square and volleyball (only one hall window broken) and enjoyed food and chat together. We have linked this in with a little Bible study, usually related to the sermon in the morning (including Douglas’s jokes if Ian can remember the punch line).
We met a couple of artists, one of whom was designing the Arts and Spirituality installation in the Cathedral which we visited to see if we could identify our contributions.
We wrote articles for the October edition of the Church Newsletter about our adventures over the summer and edited it with the help of Steve Rowan. Sharing ideas for the soon to be distributed Church leaflet was challenging.
A highlight was our extremely successful World AIDS day Ceilidh on St Andrews Night raising around £250 for the Church of Scotland AIDS project. Thanks to all who supported it and participated.
Pirates of the Caribbean II was the movie selection for our movie night, fortunately nobody was put off their fish supper.
Hopefully some of us can take up the invitation to the opening street party for the ‘Three Virtues’ in March. An art work created by a multidisciplinary team led by artist Mat Baker after a year of discussions with local people (including ourselves) suggesting ‘Virtues’ for 21st Century Inverness.
