INTERIM MODERATOR The Rev Alastair Younger has been appointed Interim Moderator in the absence of Rev Peter Nimmo due to illness. His contact details are younger873<at>btinternet.com.
PASTORAL CARE will be provided by Rev Arthur Sinclair, our Pastoral Assistant arthursinclair<at>btinternet.com while Peter is absent from his duties, due to illness.
MINISTER Peter now has a date for his second medical procedure. It will be on Wednesday 19 April at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. We are hoping this will be a success and that he will be back to work before long. Peter and Katharina would like to thank the congregation for their prayers and concern.
SOUTHSIDE NURSING HOME There will be a short service, led by Jim Alexander, at Southside Nursing Home immediately after this morning’s service at St Stephen’s. If you are able to assist with the singing, your assistance would be much appreciated. Please speak to Jim after the service. LENT STUDY GROUP The fortnightly Sunday evening discussion group will meet in St Stephen’s Vestry every Sunday evening at 7pm for an hour, from Sunday 5 March till Sunday 2 April inclusive, to explore material to guide us through Lent. ST STEPHEN’S DOOR DUTY ROTA We have a couple of gaps in this year’s rota for May, and need volunteers to help welcome people to church. This is a great help in the church and a good way to meet more people. If you or someone you know would be willing to do this for a couple of Sundays in May, it would be greatly appreciated. As well as greeting people, some of our welcomers help with serving tea and counting the offering; but you don’t have to do these things. Contact Deborah Macrae dmmacrae<at>uwclub.net
HOLY LAND TRIP 2018 Rev Doug McRoberts will be available in the hall after the service at SS today for anyone giving consideration to next year’s trip to the Holy land.
SUPPORT FOR SYRIAN REFUGEES People attending St Stephen’s recently had the chance to hear about the first-hand experiences of Struan Charters, working as a volunteer in the Elpida Refugee Camp in Greece. This talk will be repeated in the Old High today, but, here is information about practical ways in which help can be offered. Donations can be made online at www.thehighlandssupportrefugees.com, or may be given to Doreen MacDonald. Gifts in kind will be gratefully received by Doreen at Crown Church (weekday evenings and Friday mornings). Clothing for men, women and children including shoes, new underwear, blankets, sleeping bags, tents and camping gear (no duvets, bedding, towels or nightwear at present). HEALING SERVICE There will be a Healing Service in St Stephen’s next Sunday 9 April at 4pm to which all are invited to ask for, and receive, divine healing. Ruth Martin
CHRISTIAN AID COFFEE MORNING The annual coffee morning will be held on Saturday 13 May in St Stephen’s hall. There will be the usual stalls and gardeners are asked to donate from their gardens any divided plants suitably labelled for sale at the plant stall. SOCIAL FRIENDSHIP GROUP Would you like company to perhaps attend the theatre/cinema/coffee/day trips? It is hoped to form a Social Friendship Group but obviously depends on uptake.
