EXPLORING FAITH Would you like to explore the Christian Faith? Perhaps you have a friend who would like to be introduced to Christianity? Maybe you’d like to explore your own faith further. Peter is planning a series of meetings in the New Year, based on a new Church of Scotland resource Learn: Exploring Faith, an engaging guide to the Christian faith for the 21st century. It’s suitable for anyone who would like to become an adult member of the church, but also for existing church members who like to explore. Please contact Peter PNimmo<at>churchofscotland.org.
COMMUNION FOR HOUSEBOUND There will be a short Communion service THIS SATURDAY 30 January at 2.30pm at St Stephen’s. Transport can be arranged to allow those who often are unable to come to the regular Communion services to attend- and everyone else is welcome. HOBBY/CRAFT EVENING Wednesday 3 February in St Stephen’s Church Hall 7.30-9pm and fortnightly thereafter. New Crafters welcome or if you wish to learn a craft please come along. Tea/coffee & biscuits in a very relaxed atmosphere. Contact Margaret McAleer.
OLD HIGH MUSIC the inaugural recital will be on Saturday 20 February at 12 noon when there will be the chance to hear a gifted young pianist, Hyuk Namkoong, play Sonatas by Bach, Beethoven and Kapustin. Hyuk is currently studying for a Masters degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow. He has won various music awards, including, most recently the New Piano Stars Competition.This promises to be a wonderful hour of music. The monthly programme of lunchtime recitals will continue this year on Saturdays at the Old High, comprising choral concerts, organ and instrumental recitals. Full details available shortly. MESSY CHURCH Saturday, 20 February 11am to 1pm. We still need more helpers!!!! We are looking for as many as possible to get involved; craft people, servers, cooks, home bakers, singers, actors, people to set up and clean up! We are looking for donations for crafts: If you have any of these things at home, we could use them. Please bring them to the church there will be a box in the hall labelled Messy Church: Jam Jars with Lids; Baby Food Jars with Lids; empty water bottles with lids ( 500 ml); glitter; plastic small funnels.

HOMELESSNESS SUNDAY today. Help is still needed to support the Inverness and district Direct Accommodation Access supported through Inverness Presbytery. The need has been such that just in the first month of this season the project has cost £2,344, leaving a balance of £3,810 for up to the end of March, which may not be enough. VOLUNTEERING VOCATIONS, a gap year scheme for young adults aged 18–25, is currently being piloted in two locations in Scotland, and we are hoping to continue the programme with a new group of volunteers in 2016–17. The programme offers a fantastic opportunity for young people to gain experience of the different types of work within a parish or project in a supported environment, whilst exploring any potential call to serve the Church in the long term.
