SUNDAY SCHOOL takes a break for the school holidays today and next week, but there will be children’s activities in the hall. To help with these, please contact Katharina Nimmo.


ñ CHRISTIAN BASICS will begin next Sunday, 23 February, 7.30pm at St Stephen’s. This is for anyone who would like to know more about the faith. It’s our course for any adult seeking baptism or wishing to join as an adult member of the church, but also for those who would like revise the basics, or make friends with those enquiring about Christianity. Please contact Peter if you’re interested, or just turn up on the night!

ñ LENT STUDY: PARABLES AND POSSESSIONS The Bible says a lot about money. During Lent, join with us in a study of some of the parables of Jesus about how we can be in a right relationship to money, and how that can help us be in a right relationship to God. We will be following the Lent Course of Churches Together in Britain and Ireland, which is inspired by the Special Commission on the Purposes of Economic Activity which reported to the Church of Scotland General Assembly in 2012. Come along on Wednesdays during Lent, at 7.30pm at St Stephen’s, beginning on 12 March. More information from the Minister

ñ CHRISTIAN AID VOLUNTEERS MEETING Wednesday 26 February, 7.30pm at St Stephen’s. Come and help us improve the results of our Christian Aid Week door to door collection, and learn something of the work of Christian Aid. Past, present and- we hope! future supporters of Christian Aid warmly welcome, especially those involved in the door-to-door collection. Please note that Christian Aid this week is 11-18 May, and that we will also have a coffee morning on Saturday 10 May. More information from Susan Anderson.

LUNCHTIME MUSIC AT THE OLD HIGH CHURCH Please pick up a leaflet from the church doors about our 2014 concert series. You can also download a leaflet via our website. If you can take some leaflets to put on display where people will get them, please contact Jim Monro.

PASTORAL ASSISTANT The Rev Arthur Sinclair, recently retired from St John’s Episcopal Church in Southside Road, and a chaplain at Raigmore Hospital, has now taken on this role. He will be providing regular visits to the housebound. If you know of anyone in the congregation or community who would appreciate visits, please let Peter know.

WORD FOR TODAY The new copies of Word for Today, daily Bible readings and comment are available free in the vestibules at each church.

ADMIN HELP Could you spare a couple of hours a week to help the Minister with admin? To find out more, please call Peter , who will explain all that is required.

SACRAMENT OF HOLY COMMUNION will be celebrated at the 10am service at St Stephen’s on Sunday 23 February. There will be also be a less traditional evening service at St Stephen’s at 7pm on Sunday 2 March. All welcome! More information from Peter.

JONATHAN APPLEBY will be set apart as a Reader by Inverness Presbytery on Friday 21 February at 7pm at Inshes Church. Everyone from Old High and St Stephens is welcome to come along to the service.

THE REAL EASTER EGG can be ordered again through Katharina Nimmo. This year there are two eggs on sale, the original version with a storybook telling the Easter story (£3.99) and the special edition premium egg with a Holy Land Olive wood holding cross, extra thick milk chocolate egg and a milk chocolate orange bar (£9.99). CAN YOU HELP SOME ORPHANS? David Macpherson is heading to Tanzania next month to visit the projects he’s been supporting these last three years with the Vine Trust. He is collecting clothes and toys for the children who will be housed in the newly-built orphanages. He can collect anything you can give! Please contact David on.

WALKINGGROUP the first Spring Walk is on Sunday 2 March. Please meet at Tesco (Inshes) car park at 1.45pm. The walk will be to Clachnaharry and back. Everyone is welcome. Further details contact Anne Taylor.


TAKE ONE ACTION The Group are showing 2 films at Eden Court on Wednesday the 26th of February at Eden Court (at 5pm and 8pm). The films are Girl Rising presents the true stories of several girls from the global south who battled against the odds to carry on accessing education, while A River Changes Course focuses on the harsh choices faced by a river community in Cambodia as a direct result of globalisation.
